Alexa Chung Launching Own Label

The time has come! Fashion icon, presenter and former model Alexa Chung is finally releasing her own long-awaited fashion label.

Alexa Chung has put her name to many a brand including AG Jeans and Marks & Spencer following her love of fashion but this time, she’s set out to release a label of her namesake which will truly represent her own vision and style.

‘Alexachung’ will be a RTW (Ready-To-Wear) label that will be contemporary priced meaning a majority of her fans and fashion fanatics will be able to recreate Alexa’s flawless styling. The brand which is set to hit shelves in popular retail stores such as Selfridges and online at Matches Fashion and MyTheresa in May of 2017. There will also be an Alexachung e-commerce website dedicated to the ever-growing online shopping market. We may even see an Alexachung store in the future! The range of products will include a selection of daywear, eveningwear, denim, shoes and jewellery, as well as ‘special products,’ presumably accessories and/or limited edition, one-off pieces. In her exclusive interview with Business of Fashion, Alexa said:

I feel as though I’m kind of prepared to do it now. If it had been any time sooner than this, I either wouldn’t be responsible enough or have been able to take on this kind of feat. I see this being the culmination of a lot of hard work for a decade and this being the resting place for all of those ideas and to continue kind of developing and growing that, just in this one home base space. Also I feel like I need to get it up and running whilst I’m still young enough to have the energy and still be in touch with pop culture enough to make something that is actually relevant to the audience today.

Alexa Chung will be the sole Creative Director of the forthcoming brand. Former boss of RTW label Haider Ackermann, Edwin Bodson, will be the company’s managing director. Alexachung will have an in-house, six person design team and upon their first collection release are said to launch in the major fashion capitals i.e. London, Paris, New York and Hong Kong which will certainly grab audiences from every corner of the globe.
