On Monday evening in Paris, Cheryl attended the Global Gift Gala where she received the Global Gift Philanthropist Award for her work with ‘Cheryl’s Trust.’

Cheryl said upon receiving the honourable award ”I am honoured to be this year’s recipient of the Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award. I’m proud of where I grew up but I’m only too aware of the challenges that young people face. I want to give back and help young people who feel like they’ll never achieve anything reach their dreams and live a happy life.”
Cheryl’s Trust was set up by the singer to assist young people in achieving their potential and to turn their lives into a positive one setting up opportunities that can help them in their lives and future careers. The charity currently operates in the North East of England and works across the UK where it assists thousands of disadvantaged youths. Cheryl grew up in Newcastle and has recently teamed up with The Prince’s Trust in which they aim to fund a £2 million ‘state of the art’ centre in the town through Cheryl’s Trust alone. It aims to support 4000 people each year who are considered to be disadvantaged and at risk. A brand new music studio and media hub will provide enhanced support to those who will be introduced to the programmes within the centre.
Cheryl was honoured with the Global Gift Philanthropist Award at the Gala by charitable figure and actress, Eva Longoria (pictured below), as the pair have a close friendship and both continue to strive for their respective charities. The pair have been associated brand ambassadors for L’oréal Paris for 10 years now and will attend the Cannes Film Festival 2016 in representation of sponsors, L’oréal Paris.

Of course that wasn’t the only highlight of the evening. Cheryl made her red carpet début with boyfriend, Liam Payne as they attended the gala together ahead of Cheryl’s appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. She wore an ‘Elizabeth and James’ gown while Liam wore a ‘Hackett’ suit.
